I would like to know how to play the ancient Chinese game of Go. What are the rules and how do I start out and are there any good ios apps or any good websites that I can go and play with others online? If so how?

The rules of Go are very simple. But learning them is not the same thing as knowing how to play.

If you cannot find a teacher, I would recommend reading a beginner's book. This is one is a classic:
