One thing i have always had a problem with is that lets say you have a unit in your army that does all this work just to get depleted and dies just as it came in but did a lot of work while in the match but never gains anything for all the there effort. As we know unit gain experience while in combat.

Like why do assault troops gain nothing after wiping out a unit. They take losses and such why is the depleted yet victorious models not improved after in some manner. I would like to see like some type of modifier for str, toughness weapon skill something.
Examples: a squad take out another assault squad it get something to weapon skill +1, a tank something to str , a shooting squad something to toughness.

You mean give everyone Dark Eldar's special snowflake power?

Eh. Characters don't level up that fast.

I don't know. I like the idea of Carnifexes getting a bonus to Toughness for taking out a squad of Fire Warriors, and losing a single Fex.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Because that would make no sense.

Why would you expect someone to get 'stronger' after beating up a tank? If anything, you'd be weaker because you are tired because you just smushed a Rhino with a Big Choppa. People don't 'upgrade' after they achieve an objective, nor do you become more skillful just by taking a guy out in a fight.

A better example would be to give them specific special rules after they accomplish something rather then stat-increases. And these 'upgrades' would only effect campaign games and would only come into play in the following game. For example a unit takes out 3 tanks in a game, they gain tank hunter next game. Sweep 3 squads in combat, gain crusader. Things like that might make sense because they portray the units learning over a campaign, your idea simply has them getting stronger by hitting people.

At any rate, your idea would be OP. A Beaststar could easily get S 5 T5 by the end of turn two, then it would face roll everything.

I'm not sure what's it about. At first I thought that OP meant campaign rules, where units get no promotions if they take too much casualties or destroyed.

In this sense, yes, "suicide bombers" that may play key roles in your list aren't getting stronger while campaign progresses even if they do a lot of work for you.

As for regular games, yeah, there is such special mech, but it's that - special, and not everyone gets it.
