Hi all,

A group of us decided to motivate ourselves to paint we will be doing an escalation league starting at 750 and going up 250 every little bit.

We will keep track of the points and standings and mabey give the winner a prize. All teams will play each other before we move up another 250.

Here are the armies and lists for 750.

Space Marines (White Scars)

Chapter Master - 2+, Eternal Shield, PF, Bike
5x Bikes - 2x Grav
10x Tactical - Melta, Combi Melta, Drop Pod

Rd 1: SM vs Crons, DE vs GK

All games will be using a modified Maelstrom Mission. Roll 2D6 at beginning of turn those are your objectives. 1 - 5 are obj 1 - 5 respectively, 6 is kill a unit in your turn. Objectives are set up in a +. 1 is the top and then read left to right going down.

Game 1 : SM vs Necrons
SM get first turn. Deployment.

SM Turn 1
Objectives are: 2 and 6.

Tactical squad drops in on 2 and tries to kill the Barge for the other Maelstrom point. Barge jinks but fails, Melta pens and destroys the undermounted Tesla. Tact squad also throws a grenade because the shield is stripped and glances another HP. Bikes move up cautiously. Snipers shoot at Destroyer Lord doing nothing.

Thunderfire does 6wounds but 5 are saved. RP is failed.
SM get 1 pt for Obj 2
Necron Turn 1
Obectives are: 1 and 5.

Barge on left moves up to shoot at TF Cannon, does 4 wounds but all are saved by 3+. Warriors move onto OBJ 1.

Warriors move into Rapid Fire range and kill 3 marines, Barge moves back and snap firing kills 1 more. Lord and Wraiths move up for assault and fail by 1 inch.
Necrons get 1 pt for Obj 1
End of Turn 1.
SM-1 Necrons-1

SM Turn 2
SM objectives: 2 and 5

Bikes and tactical move toward wraith unit. Bolt Pistols put 1 wound on a wraith, Gravs are look out sir'd and saved and 4 wounds from boltguns put 1 wound on Destroyer Lord.

Chapter Master drops his strike on the tight Warrior squad and kills them all. (Necron player will NEVER forget about this again.) TF Cannon does 2 wounds to warriors and both fail RP.

Sorry its blurry. Lord and CM are in Challenge. CM passes MSS and kills the lord. The tactical squad and bike squad each get 1 wound through to finish off the 2 injured wraiths. (Sorry 1 wraith was injured by HoW). Tactical squad Hit and Runs onto obj 2.
SM get 1 pt for Obj 2

Necrons Turn 2
Necrons objectives: 1, 6
Nothing really moves, shooting kills a tact marine or two. Left most barge fails to kill TF Cannon even though it put 5 wounds on it. all were saved.

Stalemate in fight bikes hit and run out.
Necrons get 1 pt for Obj 1

SM 4 (FB and StW)
Necrons 2

SM Turn 3
SM objectives: 2, 6
Bikes shoot at and charge the Warriors, Tact Squad and Drop pod shoot the wraiths killing them. TF shoots at Barge but scatters off.

Bikes and CM destroy the Warriors, but lose one of their own.
SM get 2 pts for Obj 2 and 6 (killed Wraiths and Warriors)

Necron Turn 3
Necrons objectives: 3, 4
Things are looking bleak. Only have 2 Barges one on 1 HP.

1 HP Barge turbos onto objective 3. (its just inside the building 3" away.

Left Barge moves onto obj 4 and snap firing kills TF Cannon.
Necrons get 2 pts for Obj 3 and 4.

SM 6 (FB and SW)
Necrons 4

SM Turn 4
SM Obj 2 and 5


CM breaks off but fails his 8" charge.

Bikes are able to strip the last HP off.
SM get 1 pt for Obj 2

Necron Turn 4
Necron Obj 2 and 3


Barge moves 12" onto obj 3 but immobilizes himself in the process. He shoots at the CM needing 6's and rolled 3 of them. 9 hits.

CM dies.

Necrons get 1 pt for Obj 3 (and StW)

SM 7 (FB, StW)
Necrons 6 (StW)

SM turn 5
SM Obj 2 and 4

Because of how close it is the SM player decides to turbo his bikes to obj 4.
SM get 2 pts for Obj 2 and 4

Necrons turn 5
Necron Obj 1 and 3

Necron shooting kills 2 bikes.
Necrons get 1 pt for Obj 3

SM 9 (FB, StW)
Necrons 7 (StW)

Roll to see if it continues and its a 2.

Thanks for the reply! I was very suprised at how fun the game was. Never play smaller games until this one because I've been going to tournaments but it's over quick and was way more edge of your seat because you don't have the model count.

So the Necron player wanted to redeem himself so we have another Necron Battle Report. This time vs Dark Eldar!

Necrons Deploy First, DE fail to seize.
DE combat drugs are +1 LD


Deployment
Necron Turn 1
OBJ - 4,5

Necrons move up. Do some snapfiring and shooting at Ravager (Jinks) but nothing happens. Wraiths run into middle of Ruins

DE Turn 1
OBJ - 2,5

DE shuffle slightly, Reavers going to claim obj 2, wyches get out of transport to charge.

They make it into contact with the Wraiths, Urien Challenges and fails his MSS but the Wyches save all 3 hits. Hek and Wyches do 2 wounds apiece. T5 Urien takes 1 wound thanks to his 4+++. He then IWND and goes back to full health.

Necron - 1
DE - 2

Necron Turn 2
OBJ - 4,6

Sorry I am missing a picture of the Barges. They move up slightly to shoot at the Ravager.

Warriors move into Rapid Fire Range of the Reavers and only do 1 wound. (7 were saved). Shooting at the Ravager does nothing. (Jink 4 saved)

Urien takes 2 wounds in the challenge. Hek and Wyches finish off the Wraiths. (Mistake here as the Lord is no longer Fearless he should have taken a LD test on -2)

DE Turn 2
OBJ - 2, 6
Warriors arrive from reserve.

Raider moves to OBJ 2. Reavers move to Blaster the Barges, Warriors move on to shoot the Necrons on OBJ 2. (not pictured) Between the 2 Venoms and 5 Warriors 2 Necrons die.

With the Help of the Hekatrix, Urien finishes of the Lord but a poor consolidation move allows the Lord to get back up.

Necrons - 2
DE - 2

Necrons Turn 3
OBJ - 2,6

Warriors move up to blast the Raider off OBJ 2. Other warrior squad moves into terrain to destroy the wyches. Raider (Jinks) comes out unscathed. Wyches lose 2 to overwatch. Lord charges the Reavers but takes a Blaster to the face and fails.

Barges put 2 HP on the Raider and Destroy a lance.

DE Turn 3
OBJ - 4,5

Sorry forgot to take a picture.
Movement and shooting Reavers decide to shoot and charge the Barge. Raider moves onto OBJ 5. Wyches move up to charge warriors blob. Splinter fire kills 6 Necrons but 2 stand back up.

Warriors overwatch for 3 wounds and Urien tanks them but fails the first one. Wyches save w/ FNP. Wyches and Hek kill 2 but the warriors stick.

Because Urien dies before his +1 turn benefit to Power from Pain the Reavers are unable to glance the Barge.

Necrons - 2
DE - 3

Necrons Turn 4
OBJ - 4,5

Barges move onto the OBJ. Warriors move up. Barges blow up the Raider to claim OBJ 5. DE Warriors lose 3 and fail morale (from Warrior shooting).

Necron Warriors are swept in CC.

The table after Top of 4

OBJ 1,3

Warriors flee off the table. Reavers Turbo to OBJ 1. Combined shooting kills the Necrons. Ravager snap shoots a Barge.

Necrons 4 (StW)
DE 5 (FB, StW)

Turn 5 is the Barge moving onto an OBJ and glancing the last HP off the Ravager.
DE also get one more OBJ and are unable to Kill the Barge.

Game Ends.

Necrons - 6
DE - 9

Just some thoughts from this game as this is the first time I've really read the DE book and had a chance to see them in action.

Love the new Power from Pain rolls. A turn by turn basis really helps especially with Urien giving you +1 turn in a 12" bubble.
Wyches - I really liked them. For 10 points to go toe to toe with Wraiths I did not expect it.
Urien - Wow for his cost I feel he is a steal. If only he had AP in CC.
Reavers for their points are amazing. Personally I'd say they are the go to Fast Attack. (I know people will argue this but I don't like scourge, slower weaker and if you give them 4 weapons more exp on a model to model basis.)
Overall I feel like Dark Eldar lost nothing. They are still a solid force.

From the battle reports I've seen so far, they still seem quite formidable.
