Hello ladies and gentlemen, I wanted to introduce myself I'll go by the tag MMDespot.I started with the hobby a couple of months ago with a space marines strike force set and the assembly was a lot of work but after a while and a lot of mistakes I finished the assembly. Now I'm dealing with the painting, I hope to find a supportive community here and any help and tips would be extremely appreciated.
Btw. I choose WH40k space marines - imperial fists.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Hi. Thanks for the welcome and the video tutorial -I'll check it out now- I guided myself with gw tutorial but I'm having serious troubles with shades and layers. With the washes and shades I really can't tell if I have to apply the stuff to all the model or just some parts. I have the same doubt with the layers, specially with large flat areas like the pauldrons. I think I'll change tutorials for the next models, but it's too late for two tactical squads and 5 assault. But I changed a little with a command squad and commander. What do you think?

With washes, pick a colour, do the part youh want to do (all of it) pick another one. Really simple!

For example:

Yellow wash-all yellow parts
Red wash-all red parts.

Hope that helps!
