You shouldn't have taken a grounding check when you pass a FNP role. The wound is treated as never having been caused in the first place. Even if you perils, you can circumvent a grounding check by passing a FNP role.
On a slightly less thematic level, this doesn't work to your advantage when you have the acid blood upgrade. Even though you bleed, when you pass your FNP roll it's as if the wound never happened. If you ask me, it should. But sadly we can't have it both ways

That was sixth edition. In seventh you need to cause an unsaved wound, and then a single check is taken at the end of the phase, regardless of how many wounds were caused

This is correct, the only purpose grounding a FMC serves now is to assault it (Incidentally it can also assault you in the next phase). No more Markerlights grounding Hive Tyrants.
