We had Dain Ironfoot, Dwarves on boars, Armoured azog... Will GW make a new suplement book or have we reached the end?

Also, is it possible that other company acquire the license for the game? It would be nice if the game could live on.

I still think we'll see some more in the new year; you'll note the Dwarf Cab and Dain haven't appeared at all apart from two seconds in the first trailer, so it's likely that GW were under contract not to release them before the film is out. I think Azog in armour has suffered the same fate as Elk-mounted Thranduil; changes to CGI were made after the sculpts had been done, so I reckon that last Azog is the last one we'll see.

I am certain the game will live on, though; everything has or had a model, the rules hardly need updating. The game would be in a perfect place for GW to just leave it alone and let the money come in. Instead, they're actively retiring kits, but the second hand market means you can still get hold of most stuff.

If there were more models planned, they would have held off on releasing the Battle of the Five Armies sourcebook until after the movie's release so they could all be included. IMHO, it doesn't look good for any further releases.

I agree. I think we have seen the very final models ever produced by gw for lotr. Sad thing really but expected. If anything were to come out they would have rules included in the box but the only way i see that happening is if new line came back and made them do it per the agreement

I'm gloomy about the prospect of new models. I'm starting to feel like I should go and buy the overpriced plastics for all the ranges I don't own currently, just so that I have them!

I wish GW would give us some sort of clarity on this, but I expect that kits will just quietly go out of stock. Uruk Hai scouts are plastic, and they are already OOP! I feel like I should pick up the rest sooner rather than later. I really like the LOTR plastics, but it's a shame they cut the value in half a few years ago.

The Uruk Hai scouts are not OOP.

They are not under the tab that all the other Uruk Hai are but if you search for "Uruk Hai Scouts" you can see them.
Sadly its $24.75 (USD) for 12 guys for a box that should be $25 for 24 minis... But hay, then we might get people to play the game with a low entry point and since its GW we cant have that now can we.

Oh, thanks very much! I hadn't seen this post til now. That is good news. I hope none of the plastic kits go OOP soon because they are my favourite part of the range.

I am trying to create a line of miniatures that is based upon the actual works by Tolkien, and not the aberration that is Peter Jackson's monstrosity (and resulting miniatures produced by GW).

Jackson's vision was imaginative, and beautiful.

But unfortunately, it conflicts with just about everything that Tolkien wrote about Middle-earth (with the possible exception of the Rohirrim. Jackson got them almost correct).

I would like to see Middle-earth celebrated for what it really is, rather than a caricature of Middle-earth that was categorically rejected by the Tolkien's themselves (Christopher Tolkien forbade the Estate from allowing Jackson to have anything to do with any future licenses of Middle-earth properties. While we might see movies of works from The Silmarillion, these productions will not be done by either Jackson, Weta, or Jackson's production company).

GW's rules are excellent for doing skirmishing, and for enacting some of the more heroic events of individuals, but they fall down in their ability to represent the greater struggles that occurred in Middle-earth.

Such as the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, or Dagor Bragollach of the First Age, or the Wars between Sauron and the Noldor of Eregion and Lindon of the Second Age (and the eventual inclusion of the Númenóreans in that conflict); leading up to the Seige of Barad Dûr.

Nor of the Wars against the Wainriders and Foradain of Rhovanion, the Balchoth and the Éotheod, the Kin-Strife and Civil War of Gondor, or the interminable wars with the Haradrim and Umbarrim of Gondor; to say nothing of the North Kingdom of Arnor, and its eventual disillusion into Arthedain, Cardolan, and Rhuduar, along with Angmar, Carn Dûm and Gundabad warring with the North Kingdoms.

Yet GW is explicitly forbidden from even dealing with these subjects, and given the attitude of the Tolkien Estate, it is not likely they will ever be allowed to broach those areas.

But this isn't to say that they must forever be ignored.

I have begun working to fill out lines for Orcs and Elves that were begin by others (yet neglected) as explicit proxies for Middle-earth troops, and hopefully by the end of the year I will be moving on to Early Gondor and the Foradain (Northmen) of Rhovanion... I won't be able to explicitly call them that at the moment, but I do have some contact with the Tolkien Estate that has been favorable to eventual licensing should my work not conflict with existing licenses, and be approved as not betraying the spirit of Middle-earth (which seems to be an especially big deal to the Estate, in light of their horror at what has been done to The Hobbit).

However, even without being able to explicitly label them as "Such-and-Such" troops from Middle-earth, they will be pretty easily identified as such.
