Hey guys, we see that the new tank commander is a very popular choice for heavy mech armies, and he brings a lot of goodies too. But how about commanders for other vehicles like basilisk commander or a hellhound commander. So what rules would they get ? Here are my propositions.

As the tank commander, the order is made at the start of each turn.

Basilisk commander: - "Fire on the same target" . The commander and a single basilisk can shoot a st 9 ap 2 7 Inch blast. The commander and 2 of his basilisk can fire a st 9 ap 1 10 inch blast.
- " Shoot at the same target until it is anhilated, by this way we assure victory" After the commander and his basilisks have fired at a target, in the turn afterwards, when they target the same unit, no scater has to be made and the unit has to do a pinning check.

Hydra commander: - "Take it down". Every hydra in the squadron has the rending Special rule.
- other than that I don't know-

for the other vehicles I don't have any ideas. You guys have any ideas ?

Rules-wise it might make sense, but fluff-wise it doesn't. LRBTs are often used as command tanks on the front lines of a tank-heavy force, while the other tanks are support units that often aren't even directly involved in combat. A Basilisk battery is supposed to spend most of its time miles from the battle, firing at whatever coordinates they're ordered to hit. And even when they're at tabletop ranges they're still going to do the best they can to camp out of LOS from everything else and avoid direct combat. Similarly, a Hydra squadron is supposed to spend most of its time camping in a nice safe place with a good view of the sky, not engaging non-flyer units directly. So neither of these units are going to have experienced crews that would be appropriate in an HQ slot, and any attached command staff would probably be in a Salamander or Chimera.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Hey, I like the idea, though that basilisk commander sounds super OP. 250 points for a S9 Ap2 7" blast, yikes!

An alternate idea, I like the idea of artillery spotters or working them in with a master of ordnance. E.g., a basilisk commander can link a master of ordnance so they fire as a squadron, rather than having the MOO's ridiculous scatter. Or letting scions call in artillery from the commander, so even when firing indirectly he can -4" from the scatter.
