Kind of playing around with the idea of also starting the Shavashti (horrid spelling).

To get into them and use them as a sectorial, is their starter set a good base? OR is buying singles the way to go with them. I have hear people say its not good at all and the seed soldiers are terrible. I have not a clue on anything with Shavashti but I figure id give it a go. I just dont want to grab the starter if its not so hot.

Well, seed-soldiers are terrible. However, if you at any point Would like to field the TAG or play games at lower points than 250, you might need them.

They arent exactly terrible they are still 14pt cheerleaders who are also very protected turn 1 being siloutte zero camo tokens you can easily hide.

Having said that most frogs are mad that they didnt get cheaper by 2-3pts, get better weapons, or have the rule modified.

Most hate comes from not being able to play camo shenanigians which by and large has been done away with across the board as it doesnt work for mines anymore either.

Having said that most frogs use other models than seed soliders.

I've used seed soldiers in full link since I was able to, and continue to have pretty decent luck with them. Though yes, taking the full link team benefits and putting them on virtually any other troop would make for a superior team ... but shush.

Frankly, until the caliban box hits I'mma keep using my seed team. I suppose I've got the models to run a full power gwailo + Sheskiin team though, so maybe some day I'll give that a shot ...

seeds arent the best trooper in the game stat wise thats for sure, but they have there uses,
ive personaly not used a seed link before, but the fact they begin the game in camo is beneficial, a one turn trick maybe but when you have 6-8 camo markers deployed on the table it definatly makes your opponent sweat.
and if you win first deployment even better, hopefully your opponent will deploy badly while allowing your other camo/ to camo troops an advantage, throw a haiduk with smart sniper and make those seeds foreward observers and you have a threat.
this is what shasvastii is all about "stealth" we dont excel at brute force or links.
