Hello everyone. As the register page suggested, I thought I would just say a quick hi.

I started dabbling with W40K about 15 years ago and have intermittently been involved ever since. I went through fits and starts and loved getting engrossed in the world, but never got time/chance/bravery to start playing and just used it as an avenue to explore for the building of model kits in general.

My Dad had me painting model planes from a young age and as my love of science fiction grew, so did the kits I was building change. W40K was a great extension of that and I always loved the idea that I could sit and play a game with the figures (which I only did a handful of times).

I now have a very busy job and a young family that needs me to do lots of stuff during what used to be my "off" time. I starting feeling a disconnection with who I was and what used to give me a sense of satisfaction, so was amazed that during all this turmoil I happened to land in Nottingham for a course and left early to March across town to Warhammer World! Completely out of the blue and yet seemed to signal something to me that this may well have been what I was missing. So promptly bought myself a Dark Angels Dark Vengeance expansion set - loved the Nephilim Fighter - from Warhammer World and made a promise to get started again. Properly this time. So that's my story. I'll blog how things go separately if anyone's interested.

Army-wise my main is Dark Angels, I bought a Tau Battle Force (unbuilt) and I have some Dark Eldar and Ork lying around. I also have some Lord of the Rings in the garage - game box, Eagle and Balrog. I have always been frightened of painting these in case they went wrong, but that is no longer an excuse.

So that's me. Hope my painting skills don't offend too much - please let me know your thoughts - I love feedback as long as it's constructive.

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka
