Belial attempts to throw a vortex grenade at belakor but the dark master evades it and it scatters away.

SM turn 2 - The Deathmarines and the Dark Angels are able to bring about the destruction of the plague reaper. In the meantime Belial and the Deathwing drop into the fray with Belial's command squad charging the beasts of nurgle assaulting the Deathmarines and Chaplain Maximus. In a desperate attempt to hold back the demons prince Bubonicus and the Fallen Prince Mendicant, Sammael and the ravenwing attempts to charge but cant get through the iron arm and the FNP of the avatars of Nurgle. Still even with death swirling around them the marines hold 4 out of 6 objectives.[/hidden]

Chaos 2
Spoiler:
[hidden=]
The Iron Warriors use a flank march to bring the vindicator line breaker formation into the backfield.

The Helldrake roasts the command squad of Capt. Ranuk and the rhino ahead of him. The predator fires on the approaching rhino as well but cant stop the plucky transport.

The demons renew their charge on the Control station. With Belakor and the Prince Wildebeast choosing to avoid charging human to attempt to silence the guns of the Crusader. The great unclean one and the bug Prince charge the recently arrived terminators.
In the ruined manufactorum the brothers of the Deathmarine battle company attempt to hold off the demon prince Eddie using their comrades-in-arms rules.

Chaos 2 - Well the tide of momentum has swung back to Chaos. Having destroyed the bane blade, the forces of Darkness attempt to close the noose around Cypra Mundi. The titan lends its firepower to the destruction of the bane blade but must divert its other weapon to destroy the terminators preparing for an all out charge. Bubonicus and Mendicant continue to slay ravenwing marines with Impunity.[/hidden]

Space Marine 3

Reacting quickly to the line breaker squadron, the predator known as "Warpig" wheels about, exploding two of the three vindicators! The auto cannon dread and the typhoon landspeeder chip in a few hull points each.

Is there further treachery afoot? What can the Fallen demon prince Mendicant have in store for our heroes? Surely he means only the powers of nurgle are the dark angels curse... Or is there more?

The final show down in the Shadow of the Titan!

Space marine 3 - The marines have been able to hold their objectives entering the final turn. The slaughter continues on the left flank, in the palace district, with Mendicant and Bubonicus singlehandedly destroying the ravenwing. Meanwhile, on the right flank, the power of the death wing begins to tell in the forge complex. The Stormraven and the Attack bike combine to destroy the plauge hulk; the deathwing knights destroy the great unclean one, and more beasts of the nurgle fall to the strength of power fists, but all is not perfect... the demon princes, Eddie kruger, Flaatus, Wildebeast, and Belakor slay marines by the dozen, and more nurgle bikers (riding horses) escape the searing bolters of the Justinian. Having crossed the avenue imperialis, Capt Ranuk, must leave his champion geryon and rejoins, tact squad 2, bracing for the full might of the iron warriors line!
He calls out for battle and is answered by the Chaos Lord Effezz, also know as Darknoose, who emerges from his Land raider with entourage! The venerable dreadnaught emerges to threaten the plauge bearers in the back field, while the furioso battles the titan. Can the Marines hold out to save Cypra Mundi? Will Chaos call on some dark power? What is the secret that Prince Mendicant is holding back?

Chaos 3
Spoiler:

Lord Dark noose prepares to charge, while more ravenwing die to the hellhammer.

Plague marines finally make their charge. Jumpacks and extra attack, versus plague knives and FNP. Will they take the Emperor?

Several marines die, but mostly all the bloodletters die in the explosion.

Seraphicus readies himself for the charge by nurgle bikers.

Belial falls to the demon prince Wildebeast Ramyermomma, while the Brother chaplain Maximus is laid low by Eddie Kruger.

Sgt Theor is able to hold out against the nurgle marines and hold the objective.

The are still plenty of objective secured Deathwing to hold the forge control room.

Nurgle treachery at its finest and the Might prince escapes justice.. For now..

The duel between Ranuk and Darknoose will have to wait as time is up and the marines hold the city.

The back lines of Chaos never faultered.

I agree sometimes the flow wasn't easy to put together. especially when theres alot happening in the shot. To get a better flow i would have to crop pics and repeat some images. sometimes you just wanna get s___ done. Thanks for the feed back, and thanks for reading.

"Piping up" hasnt got anything to do with Bro (or Sis!).

Its an exvellent batrep, original, accessible, well worked.

I enjoy the tactical / educational batreps. 100%

But this style strikes a chord for sure

so this has been seen by a lot of people. over three hundred. for those that have seen it not many have commented. I appreciate that everyone's time is limited, but i'd really like to get a bit more feedback if possible. I get the sense that with so many people not commenting the reasoning is one of the following:

A.) Not Interesting
B.) Too long, with too much time investment
C.) Too derivative
D.) Just bad timing with lot of people more interested in the results from LVO.

I only ask because while I realize it is quite long, but i felt it was more fun to try to capture all the action in the game (within reason). I've got another big batrep like this that I could do but if people are indifferent about it... I'd prefer to do stuff people like to read.

Well, you got 40 minutes of my time to read it, and I don't have that much to spare. : ) I enjoyed it, and I can only imagine the amount of work put in. I think you could do a little less narration and not lose the feel and enjoyment of the battlefield - the banter got a bit repetitive. I'd say about half as much next time. I liked how you gave each faction a fairly distinct style of dialog….

Read it while eating a lazy breakfast. Very Enjoyable and i really like your style...
P.S. I hate long winded videos. I can read the most text heavy picture batlle report in 10 min. But having to watch a 30 min video? No thanks...

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Thanks guys i appreciate your replies. I'll see if I can edit things down in the next apoc batrep, but I'll have to put up another batrep in the series of the Umbral Campaign.
