Boosting Black Templar Biker

I just picked up the icestorm starter box and I want to use it to run demo games for friends. However, I've never played before, so I'm currently working through the rulebook. So far I have one major question:

The rulebook says that during a move+fire order, the shots are taken from any point along the path of movement, and that AROs against the active model are similarly taken at any point along the movement.

Does this mean that if the active model both begins and ends its movement in partial/total cover, but would be out of cover and within LoF of an enemy at some point along the path of movement, that the active model would not receive a cover bonus against ARO shots from that enemy?

That's correct.

The unit taking the ARO shot can choose to make that shot at any point along the active miniatures movement. So, if the active miniatures move takes it out of cover, the ARO unit can take the shot at that point. Essentially, the unit taking the shot is waiting for the ideal moment to shoot, which you would do when the target is moving out in the open (as a way of rationalising it).

Also note that if the active unit gets knocked unconscious during that action, it ends up in the point where it was originally going to end its move.
