I'm thinking about backing the black plague edition of this game that has a few days left to run on kickstarter... I'm slightly concerned the shipping + customs fees might make it cost more than am willing to spend on this though. Has anyone here from UK backed the previous versions and if so how much did it end up costing to get it to your door?

Shipping on stuff from Americaland for heavy boardgames can be anything from $20-90

Don't they ship it inside the EU now.. and post from there.. as some of our neighbours are less slappy with the VAT, and anything sent from inside the EU is exempt?

We will ship your rewards at our cost to our international hubs. Depending on where in the world you are, we will either ship to you from our hub in Germany (EU backers), China (Asia Pacific backers), Canada (Canadian backers), Australia (Australia and New Zealand backers) or Atlanta (USA and the rest of the world). Following is a list of rough estimates for shipping a standard game package (4kg volumetric weight). Keep in mind these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional buys you choose.

USA: $10-$15 to most states. $30 to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Be aware that all pledges that are confirmed after the pledge manager deadline will be shipped from the US hub at a later date. For non-US backers that will likely incur increased shipping costs. We also cannot ship to PO Boxes domestically or internationally. Due to the size of each package there is too great a risk of the package being bounced back to us.

Could you not just spout random nonsense? There's no customs fees for EU shipping through the CMON German hub.

Aye.. there it is.. to Germany.. who don't have VAT in the same way we do.. and as it will be shipped from Germany to UK addresses, there will be no customs charge as they can't charge to locations inside the EU.

So just make sure you keep an eye on the pledge manager and get it sorted before the deadline for no worries.
