Hardened Veteran Guardsman

Hello, I've been a WH40K book collector and studier for 3 or so years now. Not a miniature collector because I am not even a legal adult yet, and cannot afford the expensive models, so I use Paper proxies instead. Take that as you will. Favorite army is the Imperial Guard (not calling them AM, that name makes me think of Adeptus Mecahnicus to much) and my favorite regiment is the Armageddon Steel Legion (So it's a good thing I use paper proxies.)

Hey welcome to Dakka! Im also not 18 yet but Ive got a pretty nice job and a debit card so getting models isnt really much of an issue for me. If you have a debit card or some way to purchase things online, you can get really cheap stuff off of ebay. Or if your more into playing te game than collecting models, painting, etc. you can play W40k online for free. Just download Vassal and the w40k module and ask a veteran online to teach you how to play. Heres a tutorial:

Also that 40k module link in the tutorial is outdated you can get the most recent version here:

I already know how to play 40k actually. Surprisingly, through friends, library, and other sources I've managed to keep generally up to date on 40k. Thanks for telling me about Vassal, I'll be sure to use it.

Cool, glad to help. Also by learning it, I meant the Vassal interface, not the game. Vassal can be kinda confusing for the first few games so its nice to play with someone who has played on Vassal before so he/she can walk you through everything.

Welcome! And that's a curious solution. Good luck with Vassal (gotta try that myself) and any models you want to try and get. IG is an expensive army, admittedly.

Don't believe me? It's all in the numbers.
