Looking for information on how you guys build your combat groups, specifically for Ariadna. I'm looking at building toward ITS, 300 points.

Do you run 2 combat groups, each roughly the same? Do you run one big combat group comprised of your aggressive units and objective-takers, and another small one for your ARO dudes? Do you try to fit it all into one combat group?

What criteria do you consider when building toward your combat groups?

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Sadly, the "optimal" Ariadna list for ITS 300 pts is as close as possible to 20 models with some serious camo spam (not enjoyable at all to face)
balance out your two groups, specialists, infiltrators and killers in both and it'll be damn efficient

Thankfully you can run lists with what you want and still have a decent chance on winning.

The only thing you need to put in your lists are specialists. I try to take 4-6 of them depending on how many and what type of objectives are going to be in the listed missions.

Everything else is to your tastes. There are plenty of non-camo spam units that work just fine for Ariadna.

I will say, I take a bit of camo, but it certainly doesn't have to be spammed.

Infilrating, camo, specialists work wonders for Ariadna though. With only one wound for almost everything, you're going to need bodies, smoke, stealth, and firepower.

As for group numbers.. I try to fill out one full group with most of my specialists, and enough orders to put them to use.

My other group will be autonomous models, like Irregulars and impetuous, with a couple of defensive troops that usually won't be using their regular order in the active turn.
This gives me extra orders for those impetuous troops to pull whatever shenanigans they are up to more often.

LINE KAZAK Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (9)
LINE KAZAK (Forward Observer) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (10)

5.5 SWC | 300 Points

Open with Army 5

It worked out well and felt pretty balanced. Luck was on my side for a few rolls but by and large the ability to push mines into the Armory was critical and splitting flanks across the two groups meant I always had orders to spare.

Nice looking list. Plenty of specialists of different types, good amount of orders, and plenty of firepower.
