A tip I saw that I think it worth repeating is that the cardboard boxes that the two Icestorm forces, as well as a lot of other Infinity stuff, comes in are a great fit for being put inside of the larger cardboard terrain pieces from Icestorm or the scenery packs. You can just put them in and tape the flaps against the bottom. It makes them a lot sturdier and the weight makes them more stable.

They were in fact specifically made to have the boxes their models come in fit perfectly inside of the card stock terrain. Definitely makes them more durable, but I think the smooth bottom makes them slide on tables a bit easier. You'll want to put something inside the box to weight them down. I also want to try out some sandpaper on the bottom to give them traction.

Indeed. They were deliberately made to do that.

I use small bits of self adhesive felt (in the corners) under them to stop them sliding around on the table.

Hiding behind terrain

Another thing to do is add something inside the cardboard box to add weight. Ive been using mdf offcuts at the moment but you can use anything really.

For the crates, I came across 3 sheets of a weird plastic foam I don't know the name of from some computer packaging. Its 2" thick so Ive been cutting it up to fill the mototronica crates and the Topo papercraft crates from the maglev train pdf.
Was going to stick 4cm washers indented into the bottom side of the foam to add weight but might just add a marble dug into either end of the bottom side.

The terrain is great when you weigh it down abit and/or use something underneath to lower the ability for it to slide as much.

Also for storage I stack 2 buildings next to each other on my shelf, 3 crates on the roofs then the other buildings upside down on top of those. This saved a little space by having the roof lips around the crates and no longer sticking out.

Customeeple makes actual MDF inserts to give them weight and stability but they also still break down to fold flat.

Personally, I bought some of the MDF "Cold Front" sets that Black Sheep Industries makes, they're the exact size as the Icestorm buildings and containers and only $30 for the pack of 4 buildings and 6 shipping containers.
