Has anyone seen a mission (doesnt matter if it is fan made) where it plays similar to the Last Stand game type in DOW 2?

If not, any tips or ideas on making one?

Between

There have been a few. There was one for Fantasy in White Dwarf a few years ago that pitted seven Heroes against infinite hordes of Skaven in an old farmhouse.

The real difficulty is in scaling the waves and deciding if you want healing mechanics or a level-up system. If you do, then you could probably lift one from Mordheim or Necromunda, or Gorka-Morka if you're green.

Healing? HEALING? Let heroes bring their own damn healing if they want it!

Yeah, when i read the small novel that is the Death Guard unit options and think about resolving the attacks from a melee-oriented min size death guard squad, the thing that springs to mind is "Accessible!"

You're not. If you're worried about your opponent using 'fake' rules, you're having fun the wrong way. This hobby isn't about rules. It's about buying Citadel miniatures.

One of the Age of Sigmar starter set missions is last stand which could provide inspiration, basically your have the stormcast second in command and 3 of the big guys defend against 20 little guys and 5 medium guys played on a 2x2 board with each faction deploying along opposite edges. You play 3 rounds of 3 turns and at the end of each round the attackers are completely healed and each side returns to deployment zone. the defender must survive rounds. The defender always goes first.

So to make it 40k this could be similar. Say Attacker gets a 150pt character and one 150pt non vehicle unit. Defender gets 200pts of non-vehicle troops units. In AoS the table's bare but for 40k say the defender can cover 25% of the board with terrain. Same rules, survive 3 rounds of 3 turns the attackers regain all models and the game resets at the end of each round.

What do you think?

Those ideas sound good. I shall have to look into those.

I was thinking of using the alter of war mission for the crimson slaughter and modifying it as well as adding different rules and whatt not.
