I am making a new Chaos army and for my deamon prince I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of modeling wings to represent deamonic flight, I wanted to make a "hoverboard" of sorts. Imagine a disc of teench, but bigger. The thing is, I want to give him damonic stature too, but I don't want to make him look too deamon like. How can I get a larger marine to fit the size requirement?

either become a complete and total beast with wires and green stuff or convert your own or buy another companys model and convert it some. look at other model lines too. warmachine has some really awesome mechanical looking models. "karchev" from that line currently is my daemonprince in my iron warriors. another suggestion would be to get a fantasy model and armour it up a bit. going on a random thought here, but the bone giant model could definately serve as a good pallete for some massive green stuff work. once again you gotta be amazing with modeling.
all insanity aside, i would say go with a war machine model if you arent playing at a gw store or any tourneys.
what chaos army are you looking at?

Same question on the army but the only idea i got is for an Nightlords,Iron Warriors and Khorne army.
1)Nightlords:A pack of bats(lord of the rings),surrounding a Champion with a daemon weapon.
2)IW:A daemon prince model,cut at the hips and mounted onto a destroyer body (hoverboard) with guitar wire hooked into him.Re-work the necron part to make it less necronic and more welded together -into- the prince.
3)'The crimson water rose,heaving up the gored remains of the dead that itself drowned aeons ago...A figure rose from this chaos,looking forward for more bodies to drown in its own darkness'.You might have guessed it.Another necron model.This time,use the nightbringer.Convert it with GS with hooked in the skin bones or those railroad spikes (like Ogre Kingdoms),paint red and remodel the cloak to look like a tsunami of blood(including the skulls and remains)...

well the Nightbringer Body sure sounds like a cool idea, there was this awsome Sanguinius conversion in the Rulebook, maybe you could take that as inspiration

I don't actually know what I'm talking about, but there is a marine model for Inquisitor that looks to be at least twice as tall as 40K scale.  Also, there was some company doing space marine action figures a few years ago.  I don't know how big they were, but they might fit.

 

No idea what to use for the board.  Start with a 40mm base and add bits or putty?
