I'm not entirely sure if this has been discussed before. If it has I apologize. So anyway, over in the thread discussing 1 shot weapons/lance weapons the topic of stealth and shrouded was brought up and someone mentioned maybe making the two of them be a BS modifider instead of just a straight cover modifier. So that got me thinking. Stealth could maybe be a -1 BS modifier (to a minimum of one), while shrouded could be a -2 BS modifier (again, to a minimum of one). Then the idea I had in mind for Invisibility (again, I'm sure it's been mentioned before but I can't find it so...) is that when firing at a unit that is invisible you count as being BS/WS 1, so that would mean blast weapons could still be fired at an Invisible unit (odds are they'd scatter horribly, but they could still be fired). What do you think Dakka?

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

Yeah, that sounds about right. It helps prevent Jink saves from being stacked as crazy as Ravenwing (the re-roll is good enough, thank you very much), It also makes it a lot more useful on models with decent armour saves like Tau Stealth Suits.

I always wondered why they didn't make invisibility the same as the Culexus Assassin's Etherium rule of counting all attacks against him as WS1/BS1, template weapons should be the thing that are best at targeting an unseen assailant, spray and pray baby!

IIRC that's how Nova ruled Invisibility.

My local group has been using those exact rules for about 2 years now. The eldar player wasn't happy that his pathfinders couldn't hide from markerlights, and I didn't like the fact that my stealth suits apparently only turned on their cloaking fields on when targeted by plasma guns.

We recently took a step back to see what effect the changes had had on our games, and we're pleased to report that they've had nothing but a positive impact. D-weapons now have a hard-counter that doesn't rely on psykers, sneaky assault units don't have to hug cover to get a chance to shine, and invisible deathstars are few and far between.

It's also worth noting that for Stealth/Shrouded we count Ignores Cover weapons as ignoring the BS penalty.

I'd probably add that Shrouded and Invisibility allows you to force your opponent to re-roll the scatter die, otherwise 33% (or 52% twin-linked) feels a bit too high of a hit rate.
