So, I have the Red Mechanicum book and I want to play a Legio Cybernetica list. I heard that they were unable to take Thallax, but on page 74 (rules for the Legio Cybernetica) it doesn't say there are any units I can't take. Only that I must take an Archmagos, Castellax must be compulsory troops, my first FA and HS need to have Cortex Cont, etc. Where does it tell me what units I can or can not have once all of the Legio Cybernetica requirements are met? I plan on putting a bunch of units on order Friday and don't want to get something I can't use. Thank you.

Not sure where you got the idea that you can't take thallax. The Legio Cybernetica entry gives you all the info you need. Castellax has to form compulsory troops, robots must be your first FA and Hs choice, but otherwise, thallax away!

I don't have the red book, but I can tell you that the Legio Cybernetica list in Book 2 lets you take Thallax and doesn't require you to take Castellax as your compulsory Troops. It may have changed since but I don't think there's any reason you couldn't take Thallax.

Apparently this is 30K related so I am moving it to the 30K forum.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

A bit of an Unrelated question

It depends how you build them, but mine are ~5cm tall including the base.

Just re read the Legio Cybernetica rules. As far as I can tell, as long as you satisfy the stated rules (only 1 Archmagos, Castellax as compulsary troops, Vorax in FA and a Thanatar variant in HS) then everything else is fair game.

Interestingly, if you can find a proxy or make a conversion for Inar Satarael, who sadly doesn't have a model, you'll have that robot only Ad Mech army you wanted.

Keep in mind the biggest weakness of the Legio Cybernetica list: battle automata are not scoring units.

The best i could do was convert a Broadside Battlesuit
I mean to make Inar Satarael, you need to make the model big enough to be a MC,Tough enough (or weak enough) to look like T6 and make it Mechanicus Enough
Well i guess a Broadside with Penitent Engine Arms and Feet and a Dreadnought Engine on the back will have to do for now

Why not use a Myrmidon Secutor or Destroyer body. They are pretty big. I just built an HQ for my Taghmata Omnissiah force with a leftover body + bits. Easily Primarch size.

I was unaware there was a 30k forum, my bad. I was thinking about converting a Castellax. Making it WYSIWYG.
