So a while back I asked about using Skullcrushers as Thunderwolves and most people didn't seem to have a problem with it as long as they were converted. So Now that GW has re-released the Chaos Knights in a huge 10-man package, how would you guys feel if I used them as Space Marine Bikers?

I would convert them with the proper weapons and such (I saw a good tutorial online on how to make "Stormbolters" for their arms) but they would be lacking backpacks and...well be on horses.

I primarily love those models but with Fantasy turning into AoS, I wanna find a new way to field these guys. Thoughts?

EDIT: I would use them as WhiteScars bikers, so they can be paired with the "Thunderwolf" Skullcrushers as battle brothers.

Rule of cool!

As long as they're roughly the same size and on similar sized bases, I'd be fine with it. Obviously you'd need to let your opponent know before the game starts what they represent, but once you've done that, what's it matter? Go for it!

I'm planning on kit bashing them with the CSM kit to do just that.

I would be using them as White Scars bikers, so they can be paired as Battle Brothers with my CotGW "Thunderwolves" skullcrushers.

Considering that the Chaos Knights a F-ing cool, I would totally do it. Especially if you want to go deamonkin or something like that.

Are you talking about the old Chaos Warrior Chaos Knights or the FETH HUGE Archaon Chosen dudes? I'd happily play against Chaos Knights- they're roughly the same size as space marine bikers. But the other guys are so gigantic it would be downright unfair considering LOS.

OP is talking about the basic Chaos Knights.

It's really too bad that GW refuses to go into proper details & give us full out rules for the old school Lost and the Damned armies...
Imagine mutant 'Chaos Roughriders' with feral plate armour, chain weapons + eviscerators, power lances scattered about, and because there's NEVER anything that could possibly go wrong - warp-fueled flame throwers!

Alas, we all know that something like that would be too cool, and GW has decreed that Chaos don't deserve nice things anymore. *grumble*

I consider myself pretty open-minded towards these kind of conversions. This conversion itself has a lot of potential and rides on rule of cool, so go with it. That said, don't be too surprised if it raises a few eyebrows here and there when you bring it into play - talking from experience here, I had the same idea a while ago, and the few people I asked about it IRL weren't too impressed. Depends on the meta I guess.

Actually this is my nurgle Lord on mount/bike. And I have 5 "bikes" done with normal Chaos Knights and other mixing Knights with the nurgle special troop of fantasy (cant remember the name). I can show you photos if you want

Also is funny that I could buy the 5 chaos Knights quite cheaper than the same number of bikes....no mention chaos bikes are ugly like vomit xD

I'll echo the poster above and say, why not?

I have so far done one conversion for a chaos lord, but went for the marauder horsemen box instead of the chaos knights. Instead of using a wrist mounted stormbolter or having him dual wield bolters cowboy-style, I went with a captured Tau Pulse Rife for his gun and run it as a combi-melta.

I'm also thinking of using the Marauder Horsemen as Scout Bikers, but they might be lacking a wee bit in the armor department.

Basically I want the look of a unified Khornate Knight army rampaging through.
