Some friends of mine want to start an RPG game set in the Harry Potter universe and I was hoping we wouldn't have to create everything from scratch. Does anyone know of any fan-made rule-sets built around that setting?

Or could an existing RPG system be suggested that might lend itself well to porting over the Harry Potter universe?

To be clear this isn't something we are going to try and market, this is simply something for people to have fun with over a couple of weekends.

The group has experience with oWoD, D&D (2nd-4th) and FFG's Dark Heresy. If no one suggests anything we will likely end up using one of those systems, but we have all been out of the RPG thing for a few years so we aren't up to date on a lot of rule systems.

We tend to be hack & slashers when we roleplay, so whatever system we use needs to have a competent combat system since I have a feeling its going to be nothing but Avada Kedavra flinging and jokes about polymorph potions.

Any help would be appreciated!

D20 modern had an arcane expansion/version which might suit you for rules.

From hazy meomory it would be a pretty good match in terms of abilities/races/spells etc to stuff that goes on in HP and would also allow playing in the muggle world.
