As Sigmar's Stormhosts surge forth from Azyrheim, the descendants of the world-that-was rise up to fight alongside his chosen warriors.
This obiviously refers to peoples of the Empire but it got me thinking that other nations could have survived and made it to the Mortal Realms.
Kingdoms such as Bretonia, Cathay, Araby and other may have descendants who carry on old traditions fight back against Chaos.
The cultures themselves would have changed even a little, some parts of the might see Sigmar as a savior, others remain true to their traditional beliefs.

Probably what the free people will be one day when they get released. Now we just need to wait and see if the free people will be just the Empire reboxed or a full new range of models.

I think they're banging out all the Grand Alliance books pretty quickly right now, and they might ended up being updated annually or regularly at least. I wouldn't expect anything new, but always love it of course.

Sadly my hunch is when Grand Alliance Order is released we'll see more models moved to the 'Last Chance to Buy' than with any of the other Grand Alliances.
Still, fingers crossed we will get some new human kits.
We don't currently have any thing in the AoS rumour mill besides the upcoming AoS board game and perhaps some Tzeentch releases - hopefully something will start circulating soon.

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-) |

Clearly GW has more plans for new armies than remakes. It's always sad to see old armies go away but I can't wait to see what is the next completely new addition they bring us, like the Stormcast and Fireslayers. It seems pretty safe to bet on a new model for Alarielle in he proportions of the Celestan Prime, Nagash, and Archaon, but beside that, it could be anything really. And while I'd love to see new stuff for Tzeench and I'm curious to see what Slaneesh and Elves will become, I would love to see something totally new and unexpected next.

I also have this gut feeling that most of the Empire range and the elves will be discontinued. I couldn't find a single elf picture in the first of the new books and the empire ones were of priests only. I'd say anything other than priest and engineer like models in the Empire range will be discontinued.

Yeah, this. Working on the hunch that GW are now beyond paranoid on IP stuff, no news is good news if you're a fan of new minis...
I do remember a loooong time ago seeing a rumour on the setting that stated that human tech has reverted to pre-gunpowder.. If that turns out to be the case then a lot of Empire minis are going to disappear.
On the Elf side of things, the Fyreslayers book mentions Shadowkin a fair bit, so I'd imagine the Dark Elf 'update' won't be too far off. I'm just curious to see what Malerion looks like....

I hope they keep the Empire line. The loss of mustaches alone would be a tragedy.

Has anything been said about non-Empire humans in the material so far beyond vague references?
I read the background in WD 77 to be there were descendants of other kingdoms living in the Mortal Realms. For instance there could be those of Bretonian ancestry
or the peoples of Cathay. Thinking on this leads me to concluding that if they exist beliefs and traditions would have changed from what they were in the World That Was.
I think it would be interesting to have Bretonians fighting for Sigmar while still serving the Lady's and traditions.

I don't like this phasing out models or ranges thing they seem to be on. I'd rather they be repackaged or redone in some way that they're still available (even in a new form).
Speaking of which is there anything new about the Bretonian line being dropped?

In the BL stuff, quite a bit about the lives of Stormcast pre-reforging, plus contemporary hints as well.
For example, the nobles of Manticorea in the realm of Chamon all ride... um.. hang on, big winged lion-y things, sure I knew the name just now...
There's ancillary stuff about Sigmar's Chronomancers and Wizardwrights, being a human in the realm of fire sucks unless you're at least a bloodreaver, etc.
However, the current status of SBVD's is lacking for the most part.

Are you thinking of Manticores? And are Chronomancers time travel related? Could be a good plot device for background, but I'd rather it not become a big thing.
Sets too many "why didn't they just..."

No idea exactly. When they're involved it always seems to be when stuff's being built, and they're just wandering around doing nothing much.
So... Foremen?

So, now that the Fyreslayers have been released are the old Dwarf models and profiles discontinued?

No, Fyreslayers are (obvs) the Slayer aesthetic turned up, so I think Slayers in Dwarf armies might be missing when GA:Order appears, but we still have Duardin on the way, so in terms of 'New' Dwarfs, it depends how much of the 'Old' Dwarf minis still work, but 'Old' Dwarfs are still there.
Until GA:Order, anyhoo.
