So a friend and I are looking to start Infinity and the space monkeys look really appealing to me. We're thinking of doing a few 200pt games to get a handle on things before going full out. How does the list below look? As my infinity knowledge is completely non-existent when making suggestions on how to improve the list could you also give a brief description on why so that I know what to look out for when making future lists? Thank you!

I'd rather choose the Missle launcer instead of the K1 Sniper Rifle, mostly because you inflict the same or greater damage in units with ARM up to 2 and that triple with every hit. Also the Blast Mode ignores the +3 ARM for partial cover with the chance to hit more than one Troop thanks to the circular template. The disadvantage: you'll lose one shot and 8" of the +3 range (40" instead of 48"). And you got a Forward Observer so you can use him to do some forward observing stuff.

Since you're beginners you should try not to have too much special rules or skills in your armies during the first few games that'll keep your games more fluent and you don't have to read the rules all the time.

That makes sense. Should I run the missile launcher in the link team and leave the hacker running around on his own? I wasn't sure if having the hacker in the link team was good to start with as I'd kept reading about how using the hacking skills would break the team.

If you want him in a support role for your Q-Drone leave him out of the link.
The ML always benefits from a link by basically doubling its firepower.
