I have been thinking about getting some back story for my chaos army recently, give them their own warband and everything, but I normally use Lucius the Eternal in my army, so I'm wondering how that would play into a back story. Besides from buying whole novels that might touch on the subject, is there any way I can find out what Lucius and any other special character, chaos or otherwise, is meant to be doing in the 41st millennium right now? As in, on any kind of mission, with any certain group of people ect.

When are you setting it? What do you mean by "right now?"

40K Lex and wikipedia may help but its usually pretty vague.

Right now as in the 'present day' that the codex's are set in now. We know what they did during 30k, but not as much about what they're doing in 40k. There are some things like Typhus is hanging around the Cadian gate, Abadon is preparing the next crusade, Ahriman is on the hunt for the black library - stuff like that. Hope that helps.

I'm assuming that it is unknown what he's doing at this time, in 999.m41. Though I'm not a big chaos fan.
I'd just make something up as to why lucious would roll with your dudes, but don't base your army's fluff on him
