morning guys,

just wondering if anyone has a set of escalation rules for x-wing? I've had a bit of a thought on running one through my lgs.

: 4500pts

Lothlorien: 3500pts
Rohan: 1500pts
Serpent: 2000pts
Modor: 1500pts

If you're looking for an escalation league... pretty simple, my FLGS just does it where you have to stay with the same faction and you increase in points by 25 or so per week and sometimes end with an epic game.

If you're looking for a full on campaign, check out the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster if you haven't already seen it. It is phenomenal.

As an example, the escalation league that just wrapped up at my FLGS was:
Week 1: 40pts
Week 2: 70pts
Week 3: 100pts

We did swiss pairings, with two rounds at each point level. The relatively low point levels make it more accessible to players without many ships. We're still building a local player base around here. More typically, you would see a progression lik 30/60/90/120/150, with only one match at each point level. A nice feature of these point levels is that there is no 100pt games, and so you can't just netlist.

For list building, the usual rule is that you can only add pilots and upgrade cards at every point level, never remove. I've seen a few ideas for how to add some flexibility beyond that (usually with a side board), but the KISS principle is probably the best approach.

Curious about how it works in 30/60/90 etc. Stages.

Could you upgrade from a generic pilot in a ship class to an ace? Do you try to save points at one level so you can have them free for the next?

Well I guess you start with this official document from FFG:

Great idea of one that was used here:

Another here:

A little more on the complex side:

This is a whole bunch of awesome from our friends at Beasts of War (Battle at Endor!).

There, about the best I can do but worth noting for my own use later.
