I think it may not be worth on a Marine Chaplain, it is expensive, and replacing the bolt pistol would reduce the number of attacks....

To me, what GW did with that model is screw up an otherwise awesome mini. If I ever get one, I'm gonna replace that fist with something worthwhile, like a bolt pistol. Power fists have their place, but not on chappies or their Interrogator cousins.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Generally speaking - Weapons with the 'Unwieldy' special rule tend to be a bad choice for independent characters.

And to elaborate on Neophyte2012's point with my previous point in mind, I think it's expensive considering there are better options for similar/less points.

If you're dead-set on having a Power Fist, run it on the Sargent of the Veteran Squad you're running him with so that you can accept challenges with the Independent Character (who will strike at full initiative because no 'Unwieldy') and you also get the benefits of the Power Fist.

I don't think Interrogator-chaplains can take Artificer Armor. Only Company Masters can. Take the Mace of Redemption. You get to attack at S7 AP3, at initiative. Plus its not a specialist weapon, so you get extra attacks if you have a pistol.

I believe that Interrogator chaplains are unique because they have the fist as an option that doesn't replace either of his either weapons. That makes him pretty versatile.

If that's the case, then youd just choose wether you are using the power fist profile or the other profile for your melee weapon, sounds alright although not best. But I do agree its an amazing mini. I'm thinking less wargear for him and maybe more of another IC to confir rules for survivability. Friendly games making it a tiny psuedodeathstar

It isn't that terrible an idea as a whole. Even when they have just 3 attacks on the charge with the Power Fist, Hatred ensures you landing two of those on average.

Eh, if you're already using the Mace, S7 isn't going to differ to lo much from S8 (though it will kill T4 instantly), and it'll depend on the rest of the squad if they have either S8 and/or AP2.

Chaplains belong in friendly games, so take whatever you think is cool. If you're trying to be competitive, then a librarian is your HQ choice anyway unless you're running a gladius, in which case the chaplain is either naked or maybe rocking an auspex and a melta bomb if you're feeling lucky.

Just to say the Power Fist of the new model is separate so extremely easy to just swap for something else modelling wise. I've ended up changing his Power Fist to a Bolt Pistol as well as stealing his Shoulder Pad for my Company Master (Giving him one from the DA upgrade pack) and giving him a Jump Pack.
