Curious. I have played against Tau and Eldar almost exclusively for the last 10ish games and the last person I had played against was a Tau only collector. He explained to me that taking the Typhon is basically a jerk move on my part because "Ignores Cover is Over Powered"
Now we agreed to play a 1500 point game, he openly told me he was bringing some GMCs and MCs as a part of his Tau list.
I brought the following
CAD -
Be'Lakor
Chaos Lord of Khorne - AoBF on Juggernaut
10 cultists x 2 units
5 chaos Spawn of Khorne
Typhon
AD -
Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage
10 Pink Horrors
His list was
Aun'Va
3 Riptides all with IA and Stim Injectors
2 Strike Team Fire Warrior squads - he DID NOT take Devilfish Transports
2 squads of Pathfinders
and a Ghost Keel
Apparently being able to wipe out 2 squads of Fire Warriors and then some Pathfinders in another turn against MCs is "Over Powered" and unsportsmanlike. My Typhon survived because I made it invisible almost all game while it sat in the middle of the Board the entire game. Apparently spamming Tides and MCs in general isn't though, because the Typhon Ignores cover.... Am I wrong? Could he have done better by trying to kill Be'Lakor ? Probably... He largely ignored him As he blocked LOS from a Ruin mostly out of Range. He took some fire but never died. The Bloodthirster just mangled everything after I decided to Invis him rather than the Typhon, but man, Ive never seen a player just sink into such ranting about how unbalanced a "FW" model is....

If a Tau player tells you that Ignores Cover is OP, he is a hypocrite in every way. Tau are the biggest users of Ignores Cover out there! If he won't let you take anything with Ignores Cover, he should not bring any markerlights.

Is the typhus siege tank TFG
RAI: no defenition of TFG
RAW: no defenition of TFG
=> This question is posted in the wrong part of the forum.
The question seems to be is this obscure LoW overpowered in a 1,5k game.
Had to look him up and it is a 350 pts 14/14/14 6hp S10,ap1 primary weapon1 massive blast Ignore cover
It seems something you might not want to face in a casual game as is the rest of your list as is your opponents lists.
As a general rule if you have to ask if you are TFG, don't ask it your opponent did not like the game, fix that next time you play.
Seriously both of your lists are horrible to the point that I doubt if you are trolling. There is just no way that you can bring that fething chaos spawn invisibility death star in a game vs riptide spam and even argue about who is being OP.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
On top of that It doesn't seem to make much sense at all. You can't hurt the squad with Aun'Va at all with that weapon.

You are just feeding the original poster. He is running an auto invis beast death star and asking if he is tfg or not. : \ Anyone brining one of these lists should know better to ask that question. This really feels like all those "My power list A is not op because of power list B threads".

I would normally consider the Typhon to be OP, but considering he's bringing 3-Tide and a Ghostkeel, the kiddie gloves are off
He deserves everything coming to him.
EDIT: I do have one gripe about your list though; everything is basically khornate and you have ONE unit of Tzeentchian horrors? The blood god is displeased with you

Bring your Typhon and then bring three more OP. No Tau player has any right to complain about a single S 10 AP 1 7" blast that ignores cover and especially not when they bring gak like that to the table.

Yes, you're TFG
If he knew his opponent would be running a purely non-competitive list, then yeah, the OP would be TFG.
His opponent told him ahead of time however that he'd be running GMC's and multiple MC's. At that point, there's nothing wrong with running your own super toys!
And really, the Str.D 'Thirster wasn't even the main recipient of Invis - he should have been toast within a turn or two. His opponent made some poor choices and lost.
It's not like the OP sandbagged his opponent by saying, "sure, I'll bring a basic CSM list so we can have some fun", and then showed up with that monstrosity. (which would have certainly been a TFG move)
But we get it, as Chaos players, we're not allowed to bring anything remotely good, because apparently being "bad guys" and all means we have to always play 20 man pistol/ ccw squads and Warptalons, because... "Feth Chaos".

You both have a bad taste in armies but that doesn't make you or him TFG. I have some doubts if this game was actually played in the way you depict. Why would you ever field a unit of 10 horrors when you could field 11? Why did your AP1 blast kill all his infantry when at least one unit should have had a auto pass 1++ inv save vs it. But this doesn't really matter that much. What does make you and others like you TFG for me is shaming your opponent in here in order to validate a harsh list. He can't defend himself and these type of threads should really not be used as support / leverage to run lists. If your opponent did not like the game he did not like the game and this is always partly your fault. Having a good time while playing the game is the responsibility of both players. The opinion of dakka users about lists or your claim doesn't change anything about this.

Bold is my edit. Excuse me. I have played some terrible, awful people. I've played some people who didn't like the game because I was winning, or killed something, or won by objectives. I've seen guys become sour over the tiniest gak. It's not your opponent's responsibility to let you win if you're a poor loser, that's just childish behavior.

The Tau guy is a bad player or the Chaos guy brought a competative list, IMHO. The Typhon is only going to live so long as its invisible. If the Riptides can kill bellie and the D-Thirster, the Typhon is bread waiting to be toasted.

This thread is a joke, right? A Tau player whining about 'ignores cover'?
You both brought competitive WAAC lists. There is no TFG here. TFG is that guy who brings a Triptide against a fluffy list, or who brings an invisible Typhon against blobguard or something like that.
A player who brings a Triptide, fully deserves invisible Typhons.

If your opponent declared he would be bringing multiple GMCs and MCs it seems to me that he was looking for a competitive game. You appear to have brought a competitive list as well and there is nothing wrong playing games like this if both players want to do so. The Typhon is certainly a strong unit but given the competitive nature of your game this does not make you TFG on the basis of list selection.
Now you describe your opponent as ranting about unbalance and we can't really tell how bad he got but it sounds like sour grapes if this is accurate. Yes an invisible Typhon is a tough nut to crack but you also suggest he may have made some poor tactical decisions re target priority, which likely fuelled his frustration. Overall, from what you have said I don't really think he can have too many justified complaints, especially the claim of Ignores Cover being OP coming from a Tau player.
