Ok ladies and gents of Dakka,

I'm looking at some fluff clarification. Do the Legio Astorum use Mars Pattern Titans in their legions? Or is it strictly Lucius Pattern their home forge world titans that they use? I see that FW uk has stopped making the Lucius pattern titan and now only have the Mars pattern for sale... some images show the Legion Astorum in the Mars pattern which confuses me interns of legitimacy ... (this is all strictly for fluff purposes). Can someone help me clarify this ? Maybe the Lucius pattern is out dated and the legion turned to Mars for a newer more agile titan?

regards

While Lucius is their "home forgeworld", The Warp Runners were founded pre age of darkness and if im remembering correctly, were among the first titan houses to be founded. (I could be wrong here though). As such they have always had a large contingent of Mars Pattern titans, and IIRC Are or were one of the largest fielders of Warlord class titans.

Lucius patterns did/do see service in this Legio. But they are far from the only pattern to serve within it.

Just because the pattern originated from that world, doesn't mean it's the only or even most common one they produce.

For what it's worth someone once asked if FW had any plans to produce a Lucius pattern Reaver in 40k scale (they used to do one for Epic), to which they supposedly replied that the Lucius design is ugly and they have no intention of producing it again. This appears to be born out by the fact that they no longer produce the Lucius Warhound, so it appears FW are trying to forget the Lucius designs ever existed.

I guess it also stems down too business is business, if the model didn't sell whats the point of keeping it around.
