Working on an ABG list from IA1 and am stumped on my last 200 points.

I can take either an Executioner with no upgrades, or a LRBT with Plasma sponsons.

In IA1 you still have the Lumbering Behemoth rule, so you can move 6" and fire all weapons at full BS, so ordinance weapons don't throw off your sponsons.

The LRBT will get 1 S8 AP3 large blast 72" and 2 plasma cannon shots that get hot, while the executioner will get of 3 plasma cannon shots which do not get hot (again, old Executioner Plasma cannon rules do not have the Gets Hot rule in their profile).

They're exactly the same price as listed above and I'm having trouble deciding between them.

The rest of my army is:

2x Vanquishers
3x Infantry squads in Chimeras
2x Thunderers (Demolisher cannons hull mounted)
2x Gryphons
1x Vendetta (or Vulture, if I can pull of the conversion in time)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with the LRBT for long-range pie plate goodness. The Thunderers can take care of any 2+ saves.

As far as Lumbering Behemoth; they do have the rule BUT technically the rule doesn't exist any more, so they simply count as Tanks. They're not heavy so they can book it up to 18" a turn but they're still subject to Ordnance forcing snapshots on everything else. I'd go with a bare LRBT and some special weapons in the infantry squads to fill out some ore niche needs.

I'm siding with GreenShoes on this. The LRBT is more reliable in my experience. With regards to the Lumbering Behemoth rule... I've already seen it cause some pretty intense discussions amongst other gamers. I don't use an IA books, and just go straight from it up to date codex, but I suppose it depends on your local meta too.

3,500 (and building) ASM
3,000 Blood Angels
1500 Eldar (abandoned)

AoS - Beastclaw Raiders, Ironjawz, Night Goblins, and Ogors - Destruction remains unvanquished!

In IA vol1 second edition, the Lumbering Behemot rules just makes LR follows the Heavy Vehicle rules.
So yeah you can move 6 and fire everything, but Ordnance wepons still makes everything else snapshot sadly.
