Hey guys,

my wife and I have been hosting 40k, WHFB and, for a year now, KoW tournaments for a few years but we will be hosting our first X-Wing tournament in the near future.

As of now, we expect about 30 people to attend. It will be an "original" tournament which means that you are not allowed to use any ships or unique characters / droids of TFA and beyond (e.g. no BB-8). You may still use all other newly introduced cards as long as they would not cause a time paradoxon (we are still evaluating the list with a few members).

Given that this is our very first X-Wing tournament, I therefore chose to turn myself to the largest online wargaming community and would appreciate any sort of advice for hosting X-Wing tournaments - what popular restrictions or special rules are there? What balance problems might be worth a second look? What is the standard mode? Is there a turn limit? etc.

Thanks for all of your advice, both TO and players who already experienced a X-Wing tournament are very welcome to share their input!

Cheers,

Sigvatr

The Fantasy Flight Games website has solid tournament rules for X-Wing. They give you instructions on how to run a tournament in terms of setup, time limits, etc. I'd suggest just using those.

Click on Tournament Resources near the bottom and check out the rules...
