Concerning the controversy with the ruling on Grenades in Assault, I was thinking on how to compromise the positions. I thought, "set it up to where only models base to base with the Vehicle may use Kraks/Melta Bombs, etc. Anyone further back would be throwing it!"

Refining it a little, I came up with the following, changes in green.

Some grenades can be used to make shooting attacks or attacks in the Fight sub-phase, albeit to different effect. Only one grenade (of any type) can be thrown as a Shooting Attack by a unit per phase. Models in base contact may plant a Grenade (one type per unit) as a Melee Attack if it is a valid target.

Errata Krak, Plasma, Haywire, Melta Bombs, and similar Grenades Assault section to use the verb plant with their Assault sections.

I was thinking of posting the exact same rule. It's a good compramise and makes logical sense. I'm 100% on board with this.

There's one thing thatI think needs some (slight) clarification:

While all the models that are in base contact are making their melee attacks with grenades, can one model that isn't in base contact throw a hrenade at the target as well?

Not with this compromise, because you 'strap' bombs on during the assault phase. You 'throw' during the shooting.

Fair enough. I just though clarity on it was good since lack of clarity in the wording is what created the problem that's being fixed by this rule in the first place haha

To be precise, one model in a unit can Shoot a Grenade, while only B2B models can Melee with a Grenade.

The distinction is important when dealing with Overwatch when a Shooting Attack can occur in the Assault Phase.
