Does anyone have experience with this game? I wouldn't mind getting into a Pirate type TT game but not sure which one is good. Please leave any suggestions!

Never played them myself, but from what I've gathered Dreadfleet is a casual beer'n'bretzel -fest where your tactics amount to "learn to rng" while Man-O-War is an actual wargame (though a bit dated). Other pirategames abound, though, isn't Blood and Plunder just about to come out?

#ConvertEverything blog with loyalist Death Guard in true and Epic scales. Also Titans and killer robots! C&C welcome.

Man O War is extremely simple and straightforward. I would call it a thematic light wargame. I haven't played that other game, but I've heard it described as "beer and pretzels" by others as well.

Man O War is a ton of fun, but it doesn't exactly focus on pirates (although every faction could be understood as engaging in piracy on the high seas, in some sense). Wasn't there a collectible miniature game where ships came in card sleeves and could be popped out and assembled? It was called Pirates of the Spanish Main or something similar.
