I'm going to try out KoW for the first time with my Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos-army. As I'm extremely inexperienced in any kind of table top game I could use some feedback regarding the viability of the army list I've composed. As such I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts, tips and suggestions you guys have, both in terms of the army list as well as how to make the most out of a Varangur army in the field!
My Army-list is the following:
Heroes:
Chieftain on Direfang.
Magus + Bane Chant + Inspiring Talisman.
Magus + Fireball
Units:
2 x Regiment of Sons of Korgaan (Possible having one of the regiments switch their swords and shields to two handers).
Horde of the Fallen.
Troop of Tundra Wolves.
Horde of Direfang Riders.
I'll also add the kow2.easyarmy.com PDF for my army.
Im not all that experienced with Varangur, but it seems alright. Decent inspiring, some fast units, some tough units. You might be struggling with low modelcount, but apart from that...
Thanks for the input you two! I'll probably going to arrange a test battle next week or the week after that. Looking forward to seeing how my army will handle the battlefield.
How important are drops and number of units really? Would for instance three regiments of bloodsworn be better than two regiments of Sons of Korgaan or is it as with so many other things situational?

As you said its situational. Sometimes you can get away with a few really big Hordes though most times its better to go with a handful or Regiments as it gives you more flexibility.
