Hello, friends.

Below, I'm posting the beginnings of an Admech Deathstar. I want this to be as competitive** as it can be, knowing full well how expensive this set up is, etc.

That being said, I'm starting with the Cohort cybernetica, allied with a Libarius conclave hoping for either Warpmetal Armor to bump the Cohort to T8, or for the Power that provides rerolls to saving throws, ignoring LOS, etc. There's quite a few options.

Cohort Cybernetica (790pts)
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Kastelan Robot Maniple
····Cybernetica Datasmith [Conversion field]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
····Kastelan Robot [Heavy phosphor blaster, Twin-linked heavy phosphor blaster]
··Tech-Priest Dominus [Autocaduceus of Arkhan Land, Conversion field, Macrostubber, Volkite blaster]

Librarius Conclave Formation (330)
Librarian: Bike, ML2
Librarian: Bike, ML2
Librarian: Bike, ML2

This takes us to around 1120, barring we dont sub in Tiggy or another Librarian. Leaving 730 points left over.

My first instinct is to look to adding either a SM CAD with more bikes for some Turbo-Boosting Obsec, or maybe a battle company and hiding marines in metal boxes to score points while the Cohort walks into the middle to raise some hell.

Thoughts?

Opinions on what to do with the final 730?

Thanks for reading!

At first i was going to suggest just adding more Castellax battle automatas but then i remembered you cant take them in 40k...

37,500 pts Daemon Army of the Gods

35,000 pts - X - Iron Tenth

15,000pts - Firehawks

10,000 pts - Nighthaunt

Good list overall though I think you really need more MSU units to grab objectives etc

This guy gets it. Castellax are 80 pt MC with stupid armounts of rules. I would suggest looking into them and having your kastellan be proxies for them. That way you can play both 30k/40k with the same models.

As for the list, go MSU. If you want to sped 460pts take 2 talons and a raven for a storm wing. You get all your bases covered then. Renegade knight with double shooty + the libbys would be fun. Or go technomancy on all libbys and then run a choppy renegade knight.

My friend plays Admech and he always fields a formation that gives 4+ pseudo IWND .If you're going for a deathstar go for that formation as as it is a pain to face though I think it has a fair bit of tax on it.

Hoping to get a Blood angel army after finishing a mighty Tau empire army.

You do know that independent characters can't join Monstrous Creatures, right?

So you'll want more units for the Librarians to hide within. I'm having luck with Ravenwing. Grey Knights might also be a good ally, or any unit with storm shields.

AND then you need to capture and hold objectives.

Take wolves with the remaining points.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

Thanks for the tips, folks.

Yes, Axis. I know they can't join. The goal was to determine what to do with the remaining 730 points.

Xeno, the wolves idea was one of the things I was considering. Either wolves or white scars.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.

I have a problem.

Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.
