All three use to be inquisition units when it was still "Codex Daemon/Witch hunters" and each will fill out a hole in your battlelines. Grey Knights in particular are useful because their Nemesis Strikeforce Detachment is almost as bare bones as the Inquisition
FoC, so fielding both together even in low point games is viable.
Ordo Hereticus - Inquisition with Sisters of Battle
Ordo Malleus - Inquisition with Grey Knights
Ordo Xenos - Inquisition with Deathwatch/Space Marines(1st Company TF works nicely)
Inquisition doesn't really need the
MT, they have their own Henchmen Squads for that job.
Inquisition on it's own needs quite a few things to work:
Inquisitors (duh!) - there's a ton of 3rd party options out there. I really like to use rather medieval looking inquisitors like
Hildegard, but I also have like 3 or 4 with Conversion Beamers (Long Ranged Awesomeness incarnate) and some in Terminator Armor
Acolythe Henchmen (use Guardsmen or Tempestus, but the later are MUCH more expensive) - you'll run Special Weapons in groups of three, and you can bring entire 10-12 man squads with everyone having a Boltgun for 1pt - very cost efficient.
Servitors with Plasma Cannons - get the regular Servitors and find some Plasma Cannon bits elsewhere. I used
FWs older Legion Plasma Cannons, they look real nice on a servitor.
Chimeras - they're the cheapest transport option for your henchmen squads. Keep in mind they're the old style Chimeras where 5(!) guys can shoot out of.
Psykers - I'm using plain old Wyrdvane Psykers for this. Every one of your Henchmen squads should bring 1 psyker - they're the cheapest source of Warp Charges I know of.
If you want something for melee , you'll need Crusaders, Death Cult Assassins and Ministorum Priests - and a Land Raider to get them where they can actually charge something.
Crusaders - anything with a Sword & Board loadout should work. Death Cult Assassins are just ninjas/assassins with two blades. I'm using Warmachine models for both the Crusaders and the
DCAs as they're much cheaper, but there's probably a ton of other options out there.
To flesh out your army - and provide some long-range and anti-tank options: You need monkeys. They're called Jokaero and are either the most idiotic part of the codex or the most awesome one, you decide. But they're really useful with their LasCannon/MultiMelta/HvyFlamer multiweapon.
Another great addition are Valkyries and Vendettas, especially if you refuse to use monkeys.
And - of course - all the other fun units like Flagellants or Daemonhosts can be added on, but they're not that essential. You should rather start looking into what kind of ally you want to use. On the table you'll really notice how important Objective Secure is - you simply don't have it. So an ally with decent Troop choices is ideal, Imperial Guard and Space Marines work great for that and are still fluffy choices (Guardsmen get drafted by Inquisitors all the time, and the Deathwatch is a permanent part of the Inquisition).
