OK so you've a complete run of RT adventurers and Confrontation gangers.

And a set of pre-slottabase Perry Medievals.

And even a full set of GW's Paranoid, Judge Dredd and Lord of the Rings figures.

So you're thinking you're pretty Old Hammer huh?

Well do you have Asgard figures?

Founded by a fellow named Bryan Ansell in 1976 Asgard established a lot of the tropes he later brought to Citadel/GW and Foundry. There's impractical armor, chaos warriors, dwarfs with black power weapons, lizardmen riding larger lizards, staffs wtih skulls... a lot of familiar sights.

And best of all a lot of their models are still in production both in the US and UK so you won't have to mortgage your children!

I heard about this from the (very cool) Oldhammer group on Facebook but figured some people on Dakka might be interested too.

Naturally a lot of them are showing their age and I think most of use would be interested for historical/nostalgia reasons but there's some interesting stuff in there for all of us.

Brilliant!

Love those little space marine guys, hadn't seen those before.

Believe there was a piece of artwork of a trooper looking very similar to that in the Rogue Trader book, if I remember correctly..

Older company by the guy who later founded GW, now produced by other firms.

Some of the same sculptors who'd later go on to GW.

TLR. Asgard became Citadel which bought out GW.

Very cool. I haven't thought about these guys in a while.

I've heard -though not seen in-person- that the Asgard dwarves might be good scale matches for LoTR figs.

The Denizen Dwarves are similar I think.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. I love me some Oldhammers.

What is this thing? Looks incredible. Wielding a cleaver with it's feet?

That's the one! Nice job

Always wondered what happened to those guys. I figure if you ret-con it in, they could be some kind of really old 'dark age of technology' type trooper?

I like this idea

Albeit different John Blache used a similiar helmet type for this Imperial Navy artwork (ca 1990)

Another one from Mr. Goodwin
