A very interesting match-up between almost three eras of ancients and mediaeval.

Never really seen folks fielding Conquistador and allies before. Cool!

Makes me think of the Lion Rampant mod called Quetzcoatl Rising. Different scale and system then LADG, but cool none-the-less.

It is nice that the points system allows this kind of meeting. It doesn't require players to make investments in time and money to have historic opponents.
LADG seems to be causing a resurgence in Ancients. People are dusting off armies that have been on the shelf for decades because they are viable again.

What makes LADG better for Ancients than Fields of Glory, Clash of Empires, Impetus, or Hail Ceasar to cause such a resurgence?

Not to mention DBA, still going strong after about 25 years!

I don't think there's any one best Ancients rules. I still have a sneaking affection for WRG 7th Edition, and I've read there are people still playing 6th!

One of the reasons I am playing LADG, is the rounds are 2.5 hours, as opposed to Warrior's 3.5 hours. Another is that there doesn't seem to be any "Killer" armies, so the variety of armies have gone up as people are breaking out their historical favorites as opposed to what can win favorites.

The great thing is that as long as the base sizes are compatible you can play your ancients armies with nearly any set of rules.
