They cant run, or fire over watch, but the can move and fire as if standing still. They also can charge after fireing heavy, salvo, or ordinance weapons.
Relentless is the better version of slow and purposeful.
Unless it's on an independent character, then
SnP becomes just MILES better. Here's the thing, I know you probably have limited drop pods in your collection but the sternhammer is most efficient as a null deploy full drop army focusing on the strength of twinlinked sternguard. And the skyhammer annihilation force
Here's what I would change:
Captain NEEDS shield eternal or he gets nuked by a single melta shots MANDATORY.
All 3
Tac squads go 5man melta combi-melta in pods
drop the bikes for something cheaper doesn't matter what
Give the
devs 3 grav cannons and a multimetlta, drop the second
dev squad
Drop the sternguard down to 5 men each and drop the combi-meltas
Bring a skyhammer annhilation with
HBs and assault squads with melta bomb eviscerator
The combination of the 1st companies leadership shenanigans plus the pinning of the
HB devs + the bonuses the assault marines get against those squads + 15
SnP grav shots + all of that being 7 pods + 2 skyhammer pods means so 6 com pods come down turn 1 is a huge alpha strike. You have enough
raw shots to shred through any infantry list, enough melta to pop transports and enough grav to make WKs functionally irrelevant. Even demons who ignore leadership stuff get shredded by the sheer volume of medium strength shots coming out.
