I was thinking of doing a trade with a fellow Dakka user, as my wife and I own enough to field pretty big lists in every Grand Alliance EXCEPT Chaos, and this individual has a pretty large lot of Skaven he's looking to part with for trade items I happen to have.

Having never played Skaven, and not having access to my AoS app at the moment, I was wondering if folks could tell me what are some good performing, or at least entertaining Skaven units to try to focus on in said trade? We traditionally play only pointed (now Matched Play) games, but I am as inclined to run fun/odd units as I am top performing ones.

Thoughts? I know Doomwheels always struck me as fun when people would field them in WHFB.

most of the heavy equipment is fun!

My personal favorite is clan eshin, they are a good balance of hard hitting assassins and decent line troops with light shooting.

Plus when you take them in formations you can damn near teleport around the battlefield, move-shoot-charge but still not OP to the point you opponent doesn't have fun.

their creatures are hard hitting, from rat ogres to the truly awesome Abomination.

warp lightning cannons, warp-fire throwers, screaming bell, ratling guns, doomwheel, and Warplock engineers are tons of fun and look great!

Clan Pestilence made out like a bandit there stuff is really nasty

Anything that is a monster or monstrous infantry does pretty well, so, Thanquol, Hellpits, Stormfiends, Rat Ogres, those sort of things.

Stormfiends are battleline in a Clan Skryre army, so that's pretty strong in conjunction with their other toys.

I'm a fan of the Skaven Deathrunner from Silver Tower. The idea of a Skaven assassin that has managed just enough magic to summon up an illusory twin to distract his target before he goes for the knife in the back is awesome.

Stormvermin.

Have a unit of 20 with a Warlord hanging close by, and there is not much you cannot wipe out in a single turn of combat...

I have some skaven stuff I might be willing to trade for death stuff if interested

Some of the fun stuff I have found are Rat Ogres, Hell Pits, arch warlocks, ratling guns, flayer teams, and anything pestilens lol

How viable and fun is a clan moulder army now?
