I love how they are unlike any other legion et cetera.

Got a question though, with the fall of Horus, why do they still fight for the Chaos Gods???

I know it all speculation I suppose as no one know their true allegiance am I correct?

How deep does it go? Do you think they have a greater master plan which is still in motion? Eventually eradicating chaos somehow?

You should read the HH book called legion, then you will know who's side their on.

SPOILER: they find out that the only way to beat chaos is to let chaos win. They also believe that chaos is better for humanity than the the imperium.

MY perspective: As a alpha legion lover, i believe that they fight for humanity but not for the imperium. I think they are a mix between the ideologies of Horus and the Emperor.

One of the Alpha Legion primarchs is currently sat in stasus on Macragge, having killed Row Boat and assumed his identity. Or is he?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

You should read more then. Omegon probably went Loyalist with a fair chunk of the Alpha Legion, while Alpharius went Traitor to wipe out mankind. The Cabal, who convinced them to side with Horus originally, stated they lost any control they thought they had over the Alpha Legion as well.

However, if they are still "undercover" so to speak after 10,000 years is anybody's guess. Unlike the other Traitors sans Night Lords, they didn't retreat into the Eye of Terror after the Heresy and thus have less corruption to show. Not that doesn't mean they're not corrupted and mutated, just to a lesser extent, and were even capable of masquerading as Space Marines of the IoM during the Siege of Vraks.

Two good reads: The Serpent Beneath (really good), and Seventh Serpent (more on the side of okay) indicate that the Alpha Legion began its own civil war just prior to and during the heresy with what seems to be Alpharius leading one side and Omegon the other. As for which one is traitor and which one is loyal is anyone's guess. I like to think that up through the 40th Millennium, there has been a galaxy spanning war mostly in the shadows between the two sides, elements of the traitors turning to chaos being generally unimportant to the matter at hand except to clearly declare that one is a member of the traitors.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

My read on Legion was that everything the Alpha Legion does, they do for the Emperor. The schism between Alpharious and Omegon has more to do with how to server the Emperor than it does with one going chaos while the other stays loyal, as in there is no schism, it's all part of the plan. The "civil war" they are "fighting" simply furthers their agenda.

I am Alpharius.
