There's an upcoming tournament that doesn't allow allies of any kind and limits players to 3 detachments but has no other restrictions. I'm expecting to see quite a few super heavies, so I brought plenty of deep striking melta! And now that Helbrutes have 4 attacks I couldn't resist taking a few.

The general idea is to have the Sorcerer, Havoks, Forgefiends, and possibly the Cultists deploy behind the ADL. 3 units of Terminators, 1 unit of Raptors, and 6 Helbrutes will deepstrike, re-rolling reserve rolls. The Sorcerer will roll on Divination to get Prescience, giving me some form of anti-air when paired with the Havoks or the Forgefiends.

Any suggestions?

Just the usual of taking a heldrake and replacing havoks with oblits.

I'd probably ditch the plasma cannons on the helbrutes. Not too sure about the scourges either to be honest, I think I'd rather have fist/heavy flamer instead for the same points.

Switch the chainfist to one of the melta squads since they're the ones likely to land near something that needs a chainfist to deal with.

I think you're going to find that you're disapointed with the forgefiends, though they can be streaky and if your dice are hot, they can be amazing.

If the sorceror is going with the havoks, he probably doesn't need terminator armour, unless your plan is to stick him out front and tank non-AP2 with precog if you roll it?

At the end of the day, you're taking CSM to a tournament, with all that implies, so set expectations low and be pleasantly surprised if you exceed them.

I like my Helbrutes bare bones. the melta and PF are exelent tools. Maybe give them flamer, since it is cheap. but they get taken down fast, so cheap is the best option. I realy like the forgefiend, with 2 on the board, you are looking at 8 str8 hits, whereever you want them. if you feel you need plasma, retool a forgefind to fill this role, since they can actualy hit something, with 3 plasma cannons.
