Ok, so hoping someone has an answer to this. I am running the orbital assault rite of war in my world eaters force and was interested in taking mkiv legion dreadnoughts when I saw that under the standard 'drop pod' profile that it says it may carry 10 models or 1 legion dreadnought or 1 rapier and crew. Great. That will save me points on running dreadnought drop pods for contemptors when I can take a cheaper dreadnought in a cheaper pod to do the same job.

But.. I then noticed that under the legion dreadnought rules that it does not give you an option to take a standard drop pod, only a dreadnought drop pod. I also checked the orbital assault rite of war and it also states that a legion dreadnought can take a dreadclaw or a dreadnought drop pod, no mention on using standard drop pods despite the profile stating they can carry legion dreadnoughts.

Anybody come across this and have an answer to this? Either via forgeworld or if I am missing something?.

Thanks.

You need a DDP. The dread profile and RoW are clear about what dedicated transports are allowed.

Note that the LDP profile says it can carry 10 models, but that doesn't mean you can give any squad of 10 models an LDP. The LDP as a dedicated transport has to be unlocked by some other means...by a unit's profile, a RoW, a Legion rule, etc.

Edit: Either it's a mistake they continue to miss fixing, or they're creating some 'design room' in case they want to allow dreads in LDPs in the future.
