Ok, first off... the list.

Lord-Celestant on Dracolith
Lord-Relictor
Lord-Relictor
10-man Liberators
10-man Liberators
5-man Retributors

A keen eye will note that I'm using the contents of two starter sets to build my 1,000 point list. I'm more than willing to go out and purchase other units, but I'm not sure what. I don't want to waste money on units I won't get much mileage out of.

Do I need a Wizard? Should I add some ranged? Is the Lord of Dracolith a waste considering everyone else is slow? Dropping 10 Liberators and a Lord-Relictor would free up 280 points.

I prefer to have some sort of shooting, but when you're using the boxed set you run what you brung!

The Lord is there for his buff, meaning you never have to take battleshock tests. The breath weapon is a nice boon too and along with the Retrbutors make a great counter attack units.

Relictors are good to heal those off wounds as everything in the army has multiple wounds. I prefer the Castellent on foot as he gives them essentially mystic shield and a healing boon as well for free!

Castellent also has a shooty attack for extra fun.

As you have listed - should do very well. Liberators are TOUGH as nails. Think of them as old High Elf Pheonix Guard. They don't do a ton of damage, but it takes a LONG time to get rid of them. And don't fear taking them against the biggest/baddest multi wound guys either. They get bonus to hit with Lay Low the Tyrant.

SE lack any type of save vs. Mortal Wounds, which is not a big drawback if you don't take too many and have the ability to heal the extra wounds on the unit.

No madam, 40,000 is the year that this game is set in. Not how much it costs. Though you may have a point. - GW Fulchester
The Gatling Guns have flamethrowers on them because this is 40k - DOW III

I was actually considering getting a Castellant. I like that the kit comes with a Gryph-Hound. It would give the army a little variety.

The gryph hound seems like a throw in, but it's really nice. I wish they made a boxed set as I would have a unit of them around the Castellent all the time!

That was my thought. Unfortunately, it seems like the only two sculpts are available with either the Lord-Castellant or the Silver Tower boxed set. It doesn't seem like many people are selling them on eBay right now, so they're hard to come by. I might have to try to come up with some sort of counts-as. Maybe the Ogor cats with some sort of bird head cobbled on.
