How did it do? Any thoughts?

Surprised you went for Stele rather than Vessery - or was that just for access to PS9?

i came in second to a Dengar Manaroo list. but i wasn't disappointed, first placing ever.

my opponents were

Game 1: Han and a PS10 Ten Numb Bwing. My build just ran rampant against his and it was over in 15 minutes
Game 2: was the Dengar Manaroo list. i ended up firing at the wrong thing and i should have hit Manaroo first (lesson learnt).
Game 3: was a y wing, Jumpmaster and YV-666 laden with plasma and protons. i closed the gap to range 1 and sat there or out of arc for the entire game, only lost the bomber in the later parts of the game.

my thoughts on the list;

was the twin ions worth putting on the two defenders? probably not. there wasn't much reason for them to be stressed in my games.
double tractor beams is bloody brutal...

the reason why i went with Stele was to have the opportunity for the double damage crit card in the draw plus having Stele and Rex at the same PS gave me the ability to choose which of them would fire first. have a ship in range that i could get into hull, i would fire Stele first try to get to Hull and then fire off Rex and spend the focus for all crits. thought it was a good plan and worked only twice in my games.

Since the weekend i've played around with dropping Mara and substituting the tie bomber shuttle for a Lambda and i'm eager to give that list a try. i can see the benefits of using a shuttle since it's a bigger object to block with and having the ability to stop as well.

Well done!

I'll warn you that a shuttle is much bigger but it's going to cost you a lot; if you're using it as a blocker the ability to turn 180 with a koiogran, and the ability to barrel roll is definitely worth its cost.

If you don't think the twin ion engines were worth it, then I'm not sure what to suggest for the two extra points. Fleet Officer/Shuttle is a good pairing, and Mara Jade is nice for a blocker.

With two PS9 pilots, a 1-2 point initiative bid might not be a bad call. You can afford to barrel roll and get your focus from elsewhere, and making Soontir move before you goes a long way to making him easier to deal with.

Nicely done, I still think Engines on TIE/D aces is worthwhile, means you can use the 1 turn (best move in the game!) and 2 turn and not be totally predictable next turn

Have you thought of trying something like this;

2x Glaive Squadron Pilots
-Adaptability
-TIE/xD
-Tractor Beam

2x Black Squadron Pilots
-Crack Shot

100 Points.

Locarno;

Yeah I agree. My thoughts were to try and get the intiative and have Fel lists move first just so I can reposition.

Turnip;

You true but in most of my games playing with the defender's I haven't had the necessity to use the hard turns.

NH;
No I haven't.
