Yo dudes! I'm helping a friend make a custom codex for a narrative campaign we're running, and I *really* want to make it look identical to a 40k codex in format. Problem is I don't even know where to start as to what program to use. I had some Illustrator experience previously, but I'd have to go find a copy of it and reinstall and all that and it's been a while...

ANYWAYS! What I'm really hoping is to find someone who has made a custom codex before (you see them all the time on /tg/ and similar sites) and may have a unit rules page I could use as a template, whether it's for word or Illustrator or what have you. Failing that... What's the program that GW most likely uses for theirs, and/or 3rd parties use to copy? I'm assuming Illustrator but if there's an easier one for a graphic art noob floating around I'm unaware of, I'd like to know. I've already contacted a few people (such as Herlads of Ruin) and searched everywhere I can think for a template or sample page from a custom 'dex. Any input is appreciated!

IG/"Legion of the Damned" - 5000 points (Cripes, when did that happen?)

Vampire Counts: 1000 points? Maybe? Either way... Welcome to the Jungle

I don't have a template for you; I can tell you that I'm working on my custom GK Codex in a program called Scribus, mostly because it's free, and the Windows snipping tool was invaluable for lifting design elements (FOC slot icons, et cetera) from existing books.

Dr zoidbork has his ork codex on the front page of proposed rules. Use it as a template.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.
