While Victrix and Gripping Beast sell historical shield transfers, and Mantic sells some for Elves, Dwarfs, and Orcs, does anyone know of other manufacturers? I'd like some skull transfers or mythological creatures (griffins, shedu etc). They don't have to be detailed, just iconic like real heraldry.

GW used to do quite the range of them, but not anymore. I'm sure you could find a decent variety of them on eBay if that's to your liking.

Having done a quick googling..

There's also these:

and these:

I've not ordered from ginfritter before, but I have from Magister Militum (Maltese crosses). They took awhile to send them, but the transfers are good quality.

LBM is the ones who do the tansfers for those companies I believe and they have loads and loads.

Mostly historically themed but many are useful for fantasy.

Don't know if they have skulls, grriffons or the like though. Some simple symbols are availible:

Turns out that Ginfritter is Armorcast, so they'd be safe to order from.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Be aware that LBM's transfers are different to the norm and (many find) difficult to use.

GW used to make some Undead transfer sheets for WHFB. I actually have a couple sheets I recently tried to sell on eBay, lol.

Thanks for the replies. The Veni Vidi Vici 28mm transfers at Magister Militum are good, as are some of the Ginfritter's. Although the Egyptian decals make more sense for Empire of Dust, the scorpions and Eye of Horus appeal to me. Similarly, the "Evil Eye" from Magister Militum, even though these designs would be for an Abyssal Dwarf army I'm thinking of starting, not forces of Sauron.

*Nod* Used to have Bretonnian transfers, but sold them when I sold the uncompleted Bretonnian army.

Getting rid of their water slide transfers was one of those decisions that I just do not understand - I even used them with non-GW miniatures.

The reason I bought rules and became a real wargamer was because I wanted a properly thought out structure to govern the action instead of just making things up as I went along.

Found a great deal on an Abyssal Dwarf mega army from an eBay store who was clearing out their KoW product, 47% off on the mega Army! Have decided to go with the Magister Militum Evil Eye transfers for the shields and standards. Will probably pick up a few other sheets when I place the order. Thanks again for the help.

Edit: While I appreciate the savings, having fewer places carrying Mantic product is not good for the company's financial health. I like having an affordable alternative to GW, and I like KoW (and will get the KoW historical book locally).

I have printed my own transfers on the Testors decal sheets. If you use the Decal Set they actually work better than decals that originally came with some model kits. Simply grab images and print them onto the sheets.

I had to re-do some decals on a helicopter to match a specific unit. I had nothing but pleasure with my printed decals and an absolute pain with the ones that came with the kit.

I had no idea that Mantic sold transfers separately until I read this. I checked their site, and sure enough, you are right! Thanks! I've been trying to find good transfers for forever.

Veni Vidi Vici has some 25mm fantasy transfers, which should work for 28mm as well.
