Hello...

I been playing warhammer for almost a year now and i already have 2 factions which consists of orks and imperial guard. After collecting a bit more for my orks, i want to start another army... Perhaps... None that requires too much models. I'm really interested in a xeno race like the tau for example... Could you guys perhaps point me in a direction that i might consider buying

Thank you

The one rule I have in my threads: DONT TALK ABOUT THE ABRAMS.
That is it

Rumors are that 8th edition will hit next year so you might want to hold off until then.

Maybe Imperial Knights? A fun big project that meshes will with your guard?

Well you have two horde armies, so I'd pick something that has a low model count. GK, Eldar, SM, Tau, Chaos maybe

Well there are quite a few low model count armies out there, xeno army wise you're looking at Eldar or Tau. So pick the one which you like to look of more.

I suppose you could also swerve and go with a MC heavy Daemon army as well if the mood catches you. Honestly it all comes down to personal preference with play-style and aesthetics

Probably the ultimate low model count army is Officio Assassinorium - a dozen odd normal infantry models is a biiiiig army.

An Infernal Tetrad based Daemon Army is good too; 4 monstrous creatures is a perfectly effective army.

Harlequins are low model-count Xenos who play vastly differently to the armies you've had before. Could be worth considering.

The new Deathwatch is an elite, low model count army with cool background and nice synergy with other imperial armies.

Hm, I agree on Eldar or Tau.

If you want low numbers, the best way to get that in Eldar is Wraith host - wraithguard and wraithblades are rather expensive points wise (wraithblades are 30 points each, wraithguard are 32-42), wraithlords are pretty great, and wraithknights are both fun to model/paint and pretty potently powerful.

Or you could run a Saim Hann style army with all jetbikes and tanks. It's not really huge on models either.

Genestealer cults are gonna be dropping in the next few weeks, so if they catch your fancy then wait for them.

But there are lots of low model count armies already listed in the thread, but Harlequins or Dark Eldar (specifically Haemonculous Covens) are a lot of fun and play vastly different to these two armies so if you like their aesthetic then I highly recommend going that route.

Happy wargaming!

No, holding off makes no sense. The 8th ed may even be worse than the 7th one.
I'd go for Tau. Lots of dakka and fun to play

8th could be better. What's your point?
