How does each generation procreate? The novels say that the purestrains infect with their tongues, fair enough, but what about the hybrids? Do the fourth generation hybrids really still have that special ability, I know that they do procreate through sex at that point, but is it just exclusively through sex for Gen 4? What about the in-between gens? Can they do both?

My understanding is only the pure strains can infect an organism.

Infected organisms then procreate however they would be procreating. It's a lot of rape, hypnotism, and rape through hypnotism.

Huh. I suspected that was the case. Not necessarily through rape, though, the cult could just bring a purestrain with them to infect people faster if they're that far along. Or just lure people to the broodlord that same way.


Also, while any babies would definitely be hybrids, would any humans a hybrid has sex with be infected just through sex? Like some kind of genetic STD? Maybe sex wouldn't infect the partner per se, but then the baby they made infects the mother from the womb through osmosis. Makes sense to me.

Both regular Genestealers and the Patriarch have a hypnotic gaze that lulls people into doing their bidding, not seeing their baby's as monsters, protecting their new family from harm as best they can, luring more victims into dark alleys so be ambushed by purestrains and 1rst, 2nd, and 3rd generation Hybrids who would not be able to pass for human when doing the deed. It's not so powerful with the purestrains, but it's almost irresistible from a fully formed patriarch.

If your under the mental control/influence of an alien species "Yes" still means "No" and that is still rape. Also I suspect that especially during the early stages of a cult building it's numbers there is likely a fair amount of cousin loving going on amongst the more monstrous looking generations to boost the numbers and breed the next generation type.

As per the Codex, 1st and 2nd gens have th Genestealer kiss, just like Purestrains. 3rd and 4th are humankind and can pass as such. They can procreate the same as the host species.
