Good grief.

It's been like four years since I've checked in here on Dakka Dakka!

I make my own line of miniatures these days - Forge of Ice. They've got a Lost World theme, and as such can be shoehorned into various different sorts of serttings, particularly Conan or Pulp games (like one of Tarzan or Doc Savage's lost cities).

I've got this set up on Kickstarter right now - a Sleazy Merchant and his Sleepy Sentries, as well as two awake versions of the guards. Most of the rest of my line of figures is available as add-ons, too. The Kickstarter is already 200% funded, and as everything is already sculpted & molded it's on track to be delivered before Christmas.

They might be of interest to any Pulp or Lost World or Conan gamers here.

Hope you like them!

As of today the Kickstarter is 240% funded -

Shields have been unlocked for the guards, and a fat little lizard pet for the merchant has been unlocked, too - everyone who pledges at the $21 level and up gets him for free!

Sculpted by Dave Cauley, this is a work-in-progress photo, 20mm tall to the top of his head.

And we're on the home stretch - the last 48 hours of the Kickstarter are here!

The final stretch goal freebie has been revealed, too - a leaping boar treasure piece, being sculpted by Dave Cauley.

Here's a very early peek at the rough outline of the sculpt - it's about 15mm.

The Skull Pigs of Azor (known as Entelodonts to modern paleontologists) are belligerent and dangerous animals, but they are popular in local art as symbols of strength and power. This statue is one such representation, and should make for a nice terrain accent, treasure item, or objective counter on the table

This statue will be included FREE with every pledge at the $21 level ("The Merchant and the Alert Sentries") on up.

If you want additional Leaping Boar statues, they are available as an add-on for $2 each.

This means that, at the $45 "Full Set" pledge level, you'll get one each of the Merchant, the two Alert Sentries and the four Sleepy Sentries, two shields, the merchant's pet lizard, and this boar statue.

I have used my wizardly skills with MS Paint to put everything together - the add-on items are not *quite* exactly to scale, but this should be close enough to get the general idea across.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who posted about the campaign, who pledged, and who shared and liked it on social media. This thing has exceeded my expectations, and I know that it wouldn't have been nearly as successful as it is without all the support and help I've gotten from the gaming community.

Purely a happy accident - Robert E Howard is a big influence on me, but Edgar Rice Burroughs is more so. My setting (Azor) has a Lost World theme with a Minoan flavor - my figures can work in a lot of settings (Ancients, D&D, Pathfinder's Egyptian setting, and, of course Lost Worlds), but they do work very well in Conan games, I think.

Glad you like them!

Great efforts! That project really came through!!!

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
