So, I'm just curious what other people think about the legion command squads. Though, I think mainly it is based on which legion they are will widely effect how they are armed. As an Imperial Fists player I'm thinking of running a full 5 man squad equipped with Tartaros armor and TH/SS to make full use of the IF benefits. Perhaps even a teleportation upgrade. How have you all found a use for them? Or are they not worth the points? I don't know how a small unit can be effective in a realm of large squads and really deadly shooting.

I havent tried one with my Alpha Legion before - however I want to, to stick Dynat with them.

I did however give one a go with my blood angels. Had a 5 man command squad with a fist and 2 power weapons. Joined by a praetor, apothecary, and chaplain. All with Jump Packs. Safe to say that squad (mainly the Praetor) killed a solid 20-30 dudes in close combat.

I think if I was to run one with Alpha Legion they would be in Artificer Armour in a transport, making it so they dont get shot to gak moving up the board.

I like mine. They don't always earn their points, but they do enough damage, attract enough fire and look good enough to take them (Every army should have a banner).

5 guys, combat shields, 4 power axes and a power fist (standard bearer), sometimes melta bombs. Run with either my Praetor or Delegatus.

My $0.02, which since 1992 has rounded to nothing. Take with salt.

I like 'em. They aren't amazing solo wreaking balls, but the bubble of fearless + being decent enough to hold their own in CC (I run mine w/ 3 power weapons, 2 power fists, a few shields) make them a really fun choice to run

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I wanted to take them in as many lists as possible but couldn't see the viability.

Which is a shame as for fluff I love the idea of having a command squad on the battlefield directing traffic!

Plus who doesn't love a banner.
